WHAT IS HYGIENIST TREATMENT?
The Advanced Referral Centre has a team of experienced and knowledgeable hygienists who are able to provide superior teeth and gum cleaning solutions for both adults and children.
Our hygienists work to carefully formulated treatment plans to help prevent tooth or gum degeneration and to help educate patients on how best to care for their oral health.
WHAT CAN A HYGENIST DO?
As the front line in preventative dental care, the Advanced Referral Centre’s hygienists are trained to spot any potential dental problems such as chips, advanced decay or damaged teeth. These will be referred to our dental team to assess the need for further treatment.
As well as examining the teeth and gums, the hygienist will remove build of plaque or tartar and polish teeth. They are also able to provide advice and guidance on diet and general cleaning such as the correct way to brush and floss your teeth.
Parents of young children may find a hygienist appointment particularly useful as a way to learn how they can better care for their children’s teeth as well as teaching children about good oral health from an early age. Children may also benefit from fluoride applications to strengthen teeth where necessary.
